Day1  Paro Arrival and City History Tour

Welcome to the Thunder Dragon. Your tour guide will meet you in the airport of Paro. After checking in your hotel, you will visit the National Museum, where houses lots of exquisite local artworks and Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), where offers you beautiful river view. Today’s last sightseeing destination is the Kyichu Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan.

Day2  Taktsang Lhakhang and Farmhouses Visit

Around 2.5 hours’ hiking are needed to reach Taktsang Monastery, the most famous religious relic in Bhutan. It is possible to take a rest at the view terrace, which is located on the half point of the hiking route.

Pay a visit to a local people’s farmhouse to continue your tour. It is incredible that there is not a single nail used to build a farmhouse, which offers a good glimpse into the lifestyle of a farmer.

Day3  Transfer to Thimphu – Bhutan’s Capital

Fly to Pro International Airport and spend 1 hour transferring to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan with your tour guide. Visit Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten, Takin Preserve, Tashichhoe Dzong and a local craft bazaar after checking in your hotel.

Day4  Thimphu Culture-Learning and Sightseeing

You will visit 4 Thimphu city highlights today:

Institute for Zorig Chusum – See local students learning traditional handcrafting skills in this art school.

Coronation Park – Take a stroll in this serene and beautiful park to relax yourself.

The Folk Heritage Museum (Phelchey Toenkhyim) – This museum houses the relics and documents related to the educational history and ancient Bhutanese people’ daily life. A restored three-storey traditional rammed mud and timber house is the highlights in the museum.

Changangkha Lhakhang – You can have a fascinating view of Thimphu Valley there.

Day5  Transfer to Punakha and Short Sightseeing

Today, you will take a car ride to Punakha from Thimphu. After arrival in Punakha, you will admire the fertility shrine in Chimi Lhakhang and the highest-standard woodworks in the Punakha Dzong.

Day6  Transfer Back to Thimphu from Punakha

You will drive back to Thimphu today. Take a rest in the Royal Botanical Park, well-known for its rhododendron and bird-watching area.

Day7  Transfer Back to Paro from Haa Valley

Since you have visited the most popular tourist destination so far, it is time to do something special. In morning, you will transfer to celebrate the Haa Summer Festival, which falls between 12th -14th July, 2024.

Traditional dances, sports, cuisines and clothes are the highlights for the festival. Most Bhutanese people’s ancestors were herders. These highlights are being handed down generation by generation. You will learn more about local herders’ culture and history by celebrating with them.

Day8  Continue Haa Summer Festival Celebration

In morning, you continue the celebration in Haa. In afternoon, you will visit three monasteries with a history of over 1200 years - Juneydrag, Katsho Goempa and Haa Monasteries. There might be also celebration of small scale in these three monasteries.

Day9  Transfer Back to Paro from Haa Valley

Today, you will drive back to Paro for a rest. You will go past the Chelela Pass, whose altitude is 3988 meters. If you like, you can ask your driver to stop to take some photos there.
